The Forever Buffs Student Award honors CU Boulder students who demonstrate the Forever Buffs tenets of connecting, contributing and celebrating their CU pride through extraordinary service to the university. 

Award Evaluation Criteria:

  1. Student must be in good academic standing with the university.
  2. Only CU Boulder students who will be enrolled during the Fall of 2017 are eligible to receive the Forever Buff Award.
  3. Nominees must also be able to attend the Alumni Awards Ceremony and Reception on Thursday, Oct. 26 from 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. at the Glenn Miller Ballroom in the UMC. 
  4. A maximum of three (3) letters of recommendations can be provided with the application.

This award recognizes CU Boulder alumni who have made exceptional contributions to their field within 15 years of leaving CU. The award recognizes outstanding career achievement as well as significant contributions to the community and/or the university.

  3. Significant contributions to the community and/or the university

The George Norlin Award recognizes outstanding CU Boulder alumni who have demonstrated a commitment to excellence in their chosen field of endeavor and a devotion to the betterment of society and their community.

  2. Outstanding professional accomplishments
  3. Exceptional devotion to the betterment of society and community

The Stearns Award recognizes outstanding members of the current CU Boulder faculty and staff. It honors exceptional achievement or service in any one, but usually a combination, of the following areas: outstanding teaching, extraordinary service to the University, exemplary work with students, significant research and/or off-campus service to the community. The Awards Committee considers the qualifications of staff nominees separately from the qualifications of faculty nominees.

  2. Outstanding teaching (if applicable)
  3. Extraordinary service to the university
  4. Exemplary work with students
  5. Significant research (if applicable)
  6. Off-campus service to the community
